Dennis Ruen had a heart of gold. He was caring, supportive, loving, goofy, and all things wonderful. He loved painting, working with his hands, chatting with everyone in the community, playing cribbage with friends, scooting around on the ultimate frisbee field, listening to Neil Young, and spending time with his four daughters and their families. Sadly, December 2016 he passed away unexpectedly from multiple strokes. He will always be greatly missed but cherished exponentially by his family, friends, and the community.

To honor his love for life and time with family and friends, his daughters invite you to run or walk alongside them and raise money for the arts. All proceeds from the T-shirts (coming soon) will be donated in Dennis Ruen’s name to ArtHaus, a local arts organization. Dennis loved painting and was an advocate for the arts, supporting his family’s interests in the arts, local artists, and his own by participating in numerous community art walks, contests, and shows.

REGISTRATION: Your T-shirt will be your official entry into the 5K run/walk and hopefully a reminder of the wonderful and jovial spirit Dennis brought to the Decorah, Iowa community.  The run/walk will take place in Decorah, Iowa July 3, 2017.
