Troy Thomas

Gallery Exhibition open February 21-March 21 Mon-Sat 1-5PM
Opening Reception: February 21st, 7:00PM, at ArtHaus

Artist Troy Thomas lives and works in the village of Homestead (Amana Colonies); his home and studio is a renovated 1860s communal kitchen surrounded by prairies and floral gardens. Troy has been painting since 1978 and works seasonally as a wilderness paddle guide. Canoe trips in his youth down the Upper Iowa nourished a love for our waterways and surrounding nature, which he captures with oil on canvas and watercolors. The artwork is a mix of impressionism and abstract mixed media – watercolors, pen and ink, influenced by the dichotomy of our complex society compared to the simplicity of the outdoors and nature.
