Qualifications
Artists ages 18-25 are eligible to submit 2D and 3D artwork for consideration in the ArtHaus’ Annual Emerging Artists Exhibition. This juried art show is open to residents and students within a 150 mile radius of Decorah. All forms of media will be accepted. Artwork must have been completed within the last two years. and adequately prepared for installation. 2-d work must be framed with a wire backing only. Works not ready for installation will not be included in the exhibition. Works may be for sale but this is not a requirement.
History
The Emerging Artists Exhibition was created in 2011 to encourage and promote young artists ages 18-25 in the Driftless Region, within 150 miles of Decorah. Over a short time, this showcase has garnered attention and praise from artists and art lovers alike.
Guidelines
Each applicant may submit images of up to 3 artworks, 3 images per work (Ex full framed and detail). Only digital images will be accepted in JPG or JPEG format at 300 dpi, minimum 1200 px on longest dimension. Share images via Google Drive within the application form. Files must be labeled with the artist’s first and last name and entry number (lastname_firstname_1.jpg, for example: picasso_pablo_1.jpg). The folder should also be labeled last name, first name, EAE2024. Video works will be considered and can be submitted MOV or MP4 format but applicant may be expected to supply viewing technology for the exhibition.
Digital images along with all required application materials and a $25 entry fee must be received by midnight Friday, March 1, 2024. Late entries will not be considered.
Artists will be notified by Saturday, March 16 as to the jurors’ decisions of which works will be included in the show. Selected works must be hand-delivered or shipped and received by 5:00pm Tuesday, March 27. Shipping to and from ArtHaus is the responsibility of the artist.
A gallery opening reception will be held on April 5 at 7 p.m. Works must remain on display for the entirety of the exhibition. Works listed for sale will be made available for purchase through ArtHaus, with 70% to the artist and 30% to ArtHaus should work(s) sell.
Recipient of the Jurors’ Choice Award, as chosen by three jurors, will receive a $200 cash prize and a solo exhibition December of the 2024 ArtHaus exhibition cycle. People’s Choice will receive a cash prize at the end of the show.
