The chapbook, or “little book,” is an art piece filled with poetic text. While humble, it is not diminutive, yet precise and beautiful. It embraces smallness and largeness, brevity and expansion. Spend day one, composing and polishing poems through in-class writing exercises and discussion. Day two will explore stamping and hand lettering with simple bookmaking techniques to create collaborative chapbooks, enough so that each participant will go home with a collection the weekend’s writings.
